In June 2024, I took on the role of social media specialist at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C. In this position, I served as lead editor of the embassy’s newsletter, Germany for Americans. In each monthly news recap, I reframed Eurocentric stories on topics like defense, the energy transition, and German politics to engage a U.S. audience interested in transatlantic relations. As a social media specialist at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., a core function of my job was to create multimedia content for the embassy’s social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, BlueSky, and YouTube). I developed graphics and video content using effective storytelling to make transatlantic relations accessible to diverse audiences. One highlight was a series of explainer graphics that breaks down developments in German politics for an American audience without background knowledge. Check them out!

Slow Burn: Books for Slow Readers

For years, I struggled to return to my reading roots, so I caved and made a podcast about it. In this series, listeners join me on a journey out of my adult reading rut. In each episode, I talk about quick reads with people I like.

Sounding the Big Pond: A Transatlantic Radio Hour

This transatlantic radio show explores big ideas through personal radio essays — think topics like “friendship,” “happiness,” and “gardening.” Every Monday, the Goethe-Institut and WPFW DC invite listeners on an audio journey, which includes a German-American story, personal anecdotes, interviews, and music that was specially selected for the topic. Listen to some episodes I hosted!
